City of Birmingham offices will close at 12 p.m. on Dec. 31, 2018

Birmingham, Ala. – Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin has announced that all City of Birmingham offices, except for 911, fire and police, will close at 12 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 31. However, garbage and bulk trash and brush collections will continue that day until crews have completed their routes.

“2018 has been an incredible year for our city, and 2019 will offer even greater opportunities,’’ Mayor Woodfin said. “It has been a pleasure to serve the public this year, and we look forward to doing even more in the new year as we continue to put people first.’’

“I want to encourage everyone to keep the safety of their family and neighbors in mind this season. Please refrain from celebratory gunfire and drinking and driving as we close out another year.”
